Portmarnock is arguably the best Championship Course in Ireland. It has hosted all of Irelands major championships from the Irish Ladies Close to the Irish Open and also some of the world’s biggest events including the Canada Cup in 1960 , won by Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead, and the Walker Cup in 1991 when America triumphed by 14/10. Phil Mickelson and David Duval represented America, Padraig Harrington and Paul McGinley played on the home side. Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links, designed by Bernhard Langer, is a championship links that has played host to LET, GUI, PGA and ILGU events. The course makes full use of the surrounding dunes and natural terrain to provide a layout that will please the most ardent of golf purists, not to mention the characteristic links sea breezes to ensure that you will be all the more fulfilled by the unique challenge it presents. The Portmarnock Hotel is built on part of the former Jameson Whiskey family estate. The original house dates back to 1847 and is now home to the Jameson Bar where golfers can unwind before and after golf.

Killeen Castle opened for play in May 2009 and has had the privilege of hosting the Ladies Irish Open from 2010 until 2012. The highlight to date, was undoubtedly hosting The 2011 Solheim Cup. Mullingar Golf Club, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath

The European Club, Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow
This awesome links tumbles through 200 acres of sand dunes on the Irish Sea, south of Dublin. The links record of 67 is held by Tiger Woods. The course was ranked in the world top-100 courses by Golf (USA) and others. Holes seven, 13 and 14 are ranked amongst the 500 greatest holes in the world. Design features include the world’s longest green (128yd) at the 12th and very deep bunkers lined with railway sleepers for maximum definition and intimidation. In 2007 and 2008, the European Club hosted the Irish Professional Championship in the week before the British Open to prepare Padraig Harrington for the latter event, which he went on to win both years.

The Royal Dublin Golf Club, Dollymount, Co. Dublin
Formed in 1885 and receiving its royal designation in 1891, the Royal Dublin Golf Club is steeped in the history and tradition of Irish golf. It has been home to many championships, amateur and professional, with the highlights being three memorable Irish Opens staged from 1983 to 1985. Bull Island is a sand bank just off the north shore of Dublin Bay and is a natural home for a fine links course. The Royal Dublin Golf Course is a traditional links with an excellent view of Dublin Bay. Each hole presents a particular challenge to the keen golfer, with the 18th hole being a significant test of nerves because of the carry over of the “out of bounds” to the green.
